The homologation assistance service is intended for separated parents who jointly agree to modify the terms of a judgment in family matters without going through the courts. The service provides a simple and affordable procedure for modifying a judgment on:
The lawyer prepares the documents and completes the steps required for the agreement to be homologated by a special clerk of the Superior Court. Once homologated, the agreement becomes a judgment of the Superior Court and is then executory.
If the judgment anticipates a child support, a copy of this agreement must automatically be send to Revenu Québec in order that the allowed amount shall be adjusted accordingly.
