The Heating with Green Power program provides financial assistance to home owners who replace their central heating system or water heater that uses a fossil fuel other than natural gas, such as fuel oil or propane, with a system that uses exclusively electricity or one or more renewable energy sources such as:
Before starting any replacement or installation work, owners must register to participate in the program and have their project evaluated. If their project is eligible, owners may apply for financial assistance to receive a partial reimbursement of the costs incurred to complete the work. Rénoclimat programOwners participating in the Rénoclimat program can also receive financial assistance under the Heating with Green Power program if they received a pre-work energy evaluation for the replacement of a fuel-fired heating system after September 30, 2010. The work must have been completed after October 29, 2013. ÉcoRénov tax credit for eco-friendly home renovation Owners who use the services of a qualified contractor to complete work to replace a fuel-fired heating system may also be eligible for the ÉcoRénov tax credit.
