Prenatal meetings (also called prenatal classes) are intended to prepare future parents to have a positive pregnancy, birth experience and first days with their child.
These meetings provide future parents with answers to the most important questions they might ask during the pregnancy and allow them to get to know other future parents with whom they can share their experiences.
Individual meetings can be offered to certain persons.
The meetings address the following topics:
- role of a parent;
- progress of the pregnancy;
- lifestyle;
- nutrition for the mother and newborn;
- preparation for delivery;
- labour and delivery;
- caring for a newborn;
- breastfeeding;
- return home.
The number and length of meetings vary in each establishment. Some establishments and organizations offer intensive meetings on weekends.
