Régie de l'assurance maladie du Québec
A person accommodated in a health institution must provide a financial contribution. This contribution is used to pay a portion of the costs of products and services received. The financial contribution required of persons accommodated in a healthcare facility is used to pay a portion of the costs of products and services received by those accommodated in such facilities. The Régie de l’assurance maladie du Québec determines the contribution.
The maximum monthly rates for rooms in health institutions are set by category:
Payment of the financial contribution The contribution by an accommodated person must be paid on the first day of each month to the health institution that accommodates the person and is payable
Accommodated persons must report any change to their financial or family situation as quickly as possible to the Régie's Service de la contribution et de l'aide financières.
Any person aged 18 or over insured by the Health Insurance Plan whose state of health requires that he or she be accommodated in a healthcare facility.
