Grants financial assistance to parents when the mother gives birth to triplets and more is a family-support measure that gives parents a boost in coping with the sudden major increase in expenses resulting from the birth of triplets and more.
Clientele All parents of triplets and more. Conditions The mother must be considered a resident of Québec. The establishment where the births take place ensures that the mother has resident status.
The awarded grant is the following:
A supplement of $2,000 is granted for each additional multiple-birth child.
To qualify for the grant, the children must be alive when they leave the hospital.
Cheque is issued in the mother's name. In case of the mother’s death or incapacity, the grant is paid to the father or the person who has custody of the children.
These amounts are not taxable. However, the awarded grant may be reduce in case of recipient's debt to the Gouvernement du Québec.
