Ma place au soleil is a measure aimed at preventing poverty in young parents under age 25 by guiding them toward a trade in demand in the labour market and encouraging them to master the necessary skills to reach financial independence.
Clientele Young parents who are in one of the following situations:
Both young parents in a couple can benefit from this program. It is also possible for a parent who does not participate to the program to benefit from other measures or services from Emploi-Québec.
Conditions To be eligible, young parents must meet the following conditions:
Guidance to complement the trainingA support service for participants and guidance services are available to complement the training. Assistance Participants are entitled to income support determined according to the income support policy of Emploi-Québec or the Youth Alternative Program. Reimbursement of expenses The cost for enrolment and required educational supplies may be reimbursed, as well as child-care and transportation expenses.
The Ma place au soleil program was established in March 2000.
