Any person insured under the public prescription drug insurance plan who
The person's spouse (see definitions) and children (see definitions) must also be deregistered from the public plan because they become eligible for coverage through his or her private plan.
Deregistering oneself or deregistering a child (see definitions) from the public prescription drug insurance plan can be done by calling the Régie de l'assurance maladie du Québec or by going to one of the Régie's offices.
Adults aged between 18 and 64 who are in one of the following situations may also use the online service Registration and deregistration - Drug insurance (requires identification through clicSÉQUR):
The Régie automatically deregisters the following persons:
Deregistration is effective the day following the request or on the requested date thereafter.
