Discontinuing Recourse or Reaching an Agreement

To discontinue a recourse process, complete and sign the form Discontinuance or agreement, then do one of the following:
  • send it to the Régie du logement, if the discontinuance is done before the hearing; or
  • present it to the commissioner, if the discontinuance is done during the hearing
 

To conclude an agreement, both parties must complete and sign the form Discontinuance or agreement, then do one of the following:

  • send it to the Régie, if agreement is reached before the hearing; or
  • present it to the commissioner, if agreement is reached during the hearing
 
Upon discontinuance or agreement, the file will be closed. However, in the case of an agreement, the applicant may request a suspension of the file when filling out the Discontinuance or agreement form. Proceedings will then resume only if either party so requests in writing. There is no time limit for a suspension of proceedings.
