If the change of address is for yourself or your child under 18, proceed in one of the following ways and provide the required information:
- Use the online service Service québécois de changement d’adresse.
- Call Services Québec.
- Go to a Services Québec counter.
If the change of address is for another person, proceed in one of the following ways and provide the required information:
- With the authorization of the person concerned, use the online service Service québécois de changement d’adresse, to file the request on that person’s behalf.
- In the presence of the person concerned, call Services Québec and ask the person to confirm to the agent that he or she authorizes the disclosure of the required information.
- Go to a Services Québec counter with a duly completed Power of attorney form, plus two pieces of identification for the person concerned, one of which must bear a photo.
Confirmation Number
When a change of address request is filed using the online service, a confirmation number appears onscreen. If you gave your email address, the number will also be sent to you in a confirmation email.
Note
You can change your address using the above procedures up to six months prior to your move.
There is no charge for using the Service québécois de changement d’adresse.
When you use the Service québécois de changement d’adresse, you must provide your family name, first name, former and new addresses, date of birth and the information listed below for particular departments and agencies.
On average, it takes 1 to 7 days for a change of address filed with the Service québécois de changement d’adresse to be processed by participating departments and agencies.
