Tutorship to a Minor

Producing a Final Report when the Administration of a Minor’s Tutorship Comes to an End

To produce a final report when the administration of a minor’s tutorship comes to an end, proceed as follows:
  • Complete the Final Report form, sent by the Curateur public du Québec.
  • Have the content of the form approved and signed, as applicable, by:
    • the minor who has reached the age of majority
    • the succession liquidator, if the minor has died
    • the new tutor appointed by the court
  • Mail it to the Curateur public du Québec, if a file is open in the minor’s name.

A copy of the final report must be sent to the secretary of the tutorship council and, as the case may be, to one of the following people:
  • The minor who has reached the age of majority
  • The succession liquidator, if the minor has died
  • The new tutor appointed by the court and, in this case, to the minor, if he or she is 14 years or older
  • The tutor to the person, where applicable
Note
If the final report is complicated, it is suggested that you use the services of an accountant or another qualified professional.
