The transfer of ownership of the vehicle from the deceased person to his or her heir must be authorized by the liquidator of the succession.
From January 1 to December 31, 2017, the applicable rate is the following:

Ownership of the vehicle is transferred when the transaction is completed at a Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec service outlet.
The liquidator of the succession or the representative of the heirs must provide
Either of the following documents proving the death:
Note If the declarant of the death submitted to the civil the Application for the simplified forwarding of information relative to the death form along with the declaration of death, there is no need to provide a proof of death to the Société.
