To apply for compensation or services following an act of good citizenship, or as a dependant of a deceased rescuer:
To claim reimbursement for expenses:
All claims for compensation or services must be filed within two years of the property loss, or the injury or death of the rescuer if the act of good citizenship was performed after May 23, 2013. However, if the act of good citizenship was performed before May 23, 2013, the time limit is one year. All claims for reimbursement for expenses must be submitted within six months following the date on which the expenses were incurred. A person who does not comply with the prescribed time limit must justify the delay by demonstrating, for example, that he or she was unable to act.

For any application for reimbursement of expenses, the originals of all receipts, orders and attestations must be provided. Information requiredIn both cases, the claimant must indicate on the form the compensation file number attributed by the Commission, if known.
