Social Solidarity Program
Ministère du Travail, de l'Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale
If the beneficiary was a family member (see Definitions), benefits continue to be paid for the 3 months following his or her death. If the beneficiary lived alone, no benefits are paid for the months following his or her death. If benefits were being paid by cheque and the one for the month after the death has been received, the liquidator of the succession must return it to the beneficiary’s local employment centre (CLE).
To notify the Ministère du Travail, de l'Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale of the death of a Social Solidarity Program beneficiary, contact the Centre de communication avec la clientèle at the Ministère.
The Ministère will also be notified of the death by the Directeur de l’état civil.
