Applying for the Special Benefit for Funeral Expenses

To apply for the special benefit for funeral expenses, go to a local employment centre (CLE) or to a Services Québec office that provides social solidarity services. You must have with you the decision notice from Retraite

If the deceased was not a beneficiary of the Social Assistance Program or the Social Solidarity Program, the agent will give you the appropriate form. You must then:
  1. fill out the form
  2. attach the required documents 
  3. send the form and documents to the CLE or a Services Québec office
If the deceased person was a beneficiary of the Social Assistance Program or the Social Solidarity Program, the agent will take the appropriate steps.
