Condition regarding former spouses who were married or in a civil union
The former spouse’s consent is needed before applying for a simulation if proceedings for a divorce, separation from bed and board (legal separation), annulment of marriage, or dissolution or annulment of a civil union have not begun.

To apply for a simulation of the effects of the partition of employment earnings recorded under the Québec Pension Plan in the event of a separation, proceed in one of the following ways:

  • One of the former spouses, or his or her lawyer or notary, must fill out the Application for Simulated Partition of Employment Earnings Under the Québec Pension Plan form and mail it to Retraite Québec.
  • The mediator must fill out the Application for Simulated Partition of Employment Earnings – Mediator form and mail it to Retraite Québec.
