All children turning 18, who are covered by the public prescription drug insurance plan through their parents.
In order to be eligible for the extension of parental coverage, children must:
- Reside in Québec;
- Be insured under the Québec Health Insurance Plan;
- Not be eligible for coverage under a private plan;
- Be enrolled full time in an educational institution
- Be single (see definitions)
- Live with their parents
To extend parental coverage for a child (see definitions) under the public prescription drug insurance plan, one of the parents must call the Régie de l'assurance maladie or go to one of the Régie's offices.
