Drawing up an Inventory of the Property of an Incapacitated Person of Full Age

Tutorship or curatorship

To draw up an inventory of the property of an incapacitated person of full age (see definitions), proceed in one of the following ways:

  • Fill out the Inventory by Private Writing form in the presence of 2 witnesses, have them sign it, and mail it along with the required documents to the Curateur public du Québec.
  • Use the services of a notary and mail a copy of the inventory drawn up in the form of a notarial deed along with the required documents to the Curateur public du Québec.

Note

A copy of the inventory, whether by private writing before witnesses or by notarial deed, along with the required documents,  must be sent to the secretary of the tutorship council and to the tutor to the person or the curator to the person, as applicable. It is recommended to send a copy of the inventory as well as an explanation of its content to the protected person.
