If the deceased was receiving or paying support, in your capacity as the liquidator of the succession, you must notify  terminate a person's obligation of support. If the person who was paying the support dies, the person who was receiving support may, within six months, claim a contribution from the succession as support.  She may claim a financial contribution even if the right to support was not exercised prior to the death.

Your first step is to contact the officer in charge of the support file at Revenu Québec to find out what happened in the event of a debtor's death.
