Notifying the Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec of a Change of Address as the Sole Owner or Lessee of a Registered Vehicle

Any holder of a registration certificate for a vehicle of which he or she is the sole owner or lessee.

Holders of a registration certificate can notify the Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec of a change of address in one of the following ways, depending on their situation.

Registration certificate holder who has a driver’s licence
If you have a registration certificate and a driver’s licence, you must notify the Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec  of a change of address in one of the following ways:
  • Using the Service québécois de changement d'adresse;
  • Online; or
      • With the help of a Services Québec information officer (by telephone or in person;)
      • By informing the Division des services aux clients of the Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec of your new address by mail
      • By calling the Centre de relations avec la clientèle of the Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec  ;
      • In person, at a Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec  service outlet.
Registration certificate holder who does not have a driver’s licence
If you have a registration certificate but no driver’s licence, you must notify the Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec of a change of address as follows:
  • By calling the Centre de relations avec la clientèle of the Société 
  • In person, at a Société service outlet
  • By sending your new address by mail to the Division du traitement des avis de paiement of the Société.
You will be asked to provide certain information.
