Notifying the Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec of a Change of Address as the Sole Owner or Lessee of a Registered Vehicle

Any holder of a registration certificate for a vehicle of which he or she is the sole owner or lessee.

Holders of a registration certificate can notify the Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec of a change of address in one of the following ways, depending on their situation.

Registration Certificate Holder Who Has a Driver’s Licence
If you have a registration certificate and a driver’s licence, you must notify the SAAQ of a change of address in one of the following ways:

  • by using the Service québécois de changement d'adresse
  • either online
  • or with the help of a Services Québec information officer (by telephone or at a service outlet)
  • by informing the SAAQ’s Division des services aux clients of your new address by mail
  • by calling the SAAQ’s Centre de relations avec la clientèle
  • in person, at a SAAQ service outlets

Registration Certificate Holder Who Does Not Have a Driver’s Licence
If you have a registration certificate but no driver’s licence, you must notify the SAAQ of a change of address as follows:

  • by calling the SAAQ’s Centre de relations avec la clientèle
  • in person, at a SAAQ service outlet

You will be asked to provide certain information.
