Disabled Parking Permit

Applying for a Disabled Parking Permit

Persons with disability resulting in a loss of independence or in a risk to their health and safety when moving about over distances that do not require the use of a means of transportation.

The duration of the disability must be at least 6 months.

To apply for a disabled parking permit, following these steps:

  1. complete the Disabled Parking Permit Application form (certain sections may have to be filled out by a healthcare professional);
  2. Enclose the required payment and assessment signed by the healthcare professional
  3. Submit the form and the required payment to the submit the form and the required payment to the Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec by mail.

The Société may ask the holder of a disabled parking permit to fill out a new assessment form or to undergo additional assessment in order to ensure that he or she still meets the conditions for obtaining the permit.
