Applying for a Retirement Pension under the Québec Pension Plan

Anyone aged 60 or over who has contributed to the Québec Pension Plan for at least one year.

You do not have to stop working to be entitled to a retirement pension.

You cannot receive your retirement pension before age 65 if you are in one of the following situations:

  • You receive an unreduced income replacement indemnity from the Commission des normes, de l’équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail.
  • You are entitled to a disability benefit from the Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec and are deemed disabled by Retraite Québec due to the same disability.

To apply for a retirement pension under the Québec Pension Plan, proceed in one of the following ways:

  • Use the online service Application for a Retirement Pension Under the Québec Pension Plan (clicSÉQUR authentication required). Or:
  • Fill out the form Application for a Retirement Pension and mail it to Retraite Québec.

You can also apply through the online service My Account- Quebec Pension Plan and Children's Benefits (clicSÉQUR authentication required) if you are registered for it.

For an estimate of the amount of your retirement pension, use the online service My Account or see your Statement of Participation.

If you are receiving a disability pension you do not have to apply for a retirement pension, since it will automatically replace your disability pension at age 65.
