If you are expecting a child and you are young or living in poverty or a vulnerable situation, you may be eligible for individualized support adapted to your needs, from the start of pregnancy until your child turns 5.
Offered through local community service centres ( CLSCs), integrated perinatal and early childhood services ( SIPPE) are intended to support vulnerable families, from the beginning of the pregnancy until the child reaches age five. Integrated perinatal and early childhood services provide families with individualized support adapted to their needs. These services also target actions to improve the living conditions of families and promote their involvement in the community. Goals Integrated perinatal and early childhood services have two goals:
Clientele Parents and future parents Conditions Integrated perinatal and early childhood services are preventive services (pre- and postnatal) that apply
Furthermore, clinical judgement supports the decision of offering or not integrated perinatal and early childhood services.
During and after the pregnancy, the local community service centre organizes activities for the participating woman or family. The table below describes these activities.
Frequency and type of CLSC activities
Contact by phone or otherwise, as soon as possible.
Home visits lasting 60 to 90 minutes each, every 2 weeks, beginning in the 12th week of pregnancy.
From 0 to 6 weeks
From 7 weeks to 12 months
From 13 months to 5 years
