You can receive financial assistance under the Shelter Allowance Program if you
- have a low income;
- have at least one dependent child;
- spend a significant portion of your income on lodging.
Whether you are a homeowner, tenant, rooming house occupant or are sharing a dwelling with one or more people, the amount of financial assistance granted to you will be determined on the basis of the number of people in your household, your total household income and your monthly rent.
