Work Premium

Applying for Advance Payments of the Work Premium Using the Form Sent by the Ministère du Travail, de l'Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale

Clientele
Any beneficiary of the Social Solidarity Program who has employment income.

Requirements
To be eligible for advance payments of the work premium as a beneficiary of the Social Solidarity Program, all of the following must be true when you file your application:
  • You reside in Québec and have the status of Canadian citizen, Indian, permanent resident or refugee. à
  • You are not a full-time student (see definitions), unless you are the mother or father of a child who lives with you.
  • You are not confined in a prison or similar institution.
  • You are 18 or older on the 1st day of the month when you apply, or, if you are under 18, no one is entitled to Family allowance on your behalf during the year underway. 
  • Your annual income from employment is at least:
      • $2,400 if applying as a single person
      • $3,600 if applying as a couple with or without dependent children
Note
Only one application for advance payments may be made per household.

To apply for advance payments of the work premium as a beneficiary of the Social Solidarity Program, proceed as follows: 

  1. Fill out the form Demande de versements anticipés de la prime au travail pour la clientèle des programmes d’aide financière (in French only), which is sent by the  Ministère when your employment income passes the minimum amount required for you to be entitled to the work premium.
  2. Attach to the form a cheque specimen marked "VOID" on the front, together with your name and social assistance number, or fill out the section of the form on banking information for payment by direct deposit.
  3. Send by mail to the Services Québec office in Chicoutimi.
