Applying for Advance Payments of the Work Premium Using the Form Sent by the Ministère du Travail, de l'Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale

Any beneficiary of the Social Solidarity Program who has employment income.

To be eligible for advance payments of the work premium as a beneficiary of the Social Solidarity Program, you must meet the following requirements:

  • You reside in Québec and have the status of Canadian citizen, Indian, permanent resident or refugee.
  • You are not a full-time student, unless you are the mother or father of a child who lives with you.
  • You are not confined in a prison or similar institution.
  • You are 18 or older on the 1st day of the month when you apply, or, if you are under 18, no one is entitled to child assistance payments on your behalf during that year.
  • Your annual income from employment is at least:
    • $2400 for a single person
    • $3600 for a couple with or without dependent children

Only one application for advance payments should be made per household. When both spouses have employment income, only one should apply for advance payments for both of them.

The initial payment, corresponding to 90% of the work premium calculated at the time of the application for advance payments, is paid to the beneficiary by direct deposit in the month after the application is received. Additional payments are made afterwards if the beneficiary receives additional employment income.

To apply for advance payments of the work premium, do the following:

  1. Fill out the form Demande de versements anticipés de la prime au travail pour la clientèle des programmes d’aide financière (application for advance payments of the work premium, for beneficiaries of the Social Solidarity Program), which is sent to you by the Ministère du Travail, de l’Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale when your employment income passes the minimum amount required for you to be entitled to the work premium.
  2. Attach a cheque specimen to the form, or fill out the section on banking information for payment by direct deposit.
