What to Do in the Event of Death

Marriage and Civil Union Regimes

Important Notice

This page is being updated. Meanwhile, as the information currently online may not be complete, we invite you to consult the French version. Thank you for your understanding.

If you are the liquidator of a succession that concerns a married couple or a couple in a civil union, you must first settle the question of the division of the family patrimony, then that of the liquidation of the matrimonial regime or the civil union before you liquidate the succession.

To determine to which matrimonial regime the couple is subject, consult the marriage or civil union contract.
