Type of Wills

Ministère de la Justice

A will is a document in which you indicate how you want your property to be distributed after your death. You can also name an executor (liquidator of your succession), or a tutor for your minor children, if any.

The Civil Code of Québec recognizes three types of will: holograph wills (written by hand by the testator, without witnesses), wills made in the presence of witnesses, and notarial wills.
